Thomas (the main character) woke up in a metal box that somehow traveled to a place called the Glade. The Glade is an unusual place where they are surrounded by four walls. These are the inner most walls of a gigantic maze. Thomas is a new comer to the Glade and learns that his new friends have been trapped in this maze for about two years now. They send people called runners to find their way out of the maze and those runners spend their nights making maps of the maze. However, the maze walls move every night (How much harder can it get?). Thomas becomes a runner and finds out that deadly monsters, called grievers, live in this mysterious maze. Now, he must fight his way through the maze and grievers. Will they escape?
This is an amazing book and I recommend this to everyone. The situations these characters get put through are very unusual. For example, like waking up one day and finding yourself stuck in a gigantic maze. I could not put this book down after I started reading.
The people in the Glade, usually referred to as the Gladers, are very close. Their friendships could last forever. This is what keeps the Glade going. I think that if they weren’t as close this book wouldn’t be nearly as good.

Random stuff about me:
* Favorite book: Hmmmm, this is hard, since it changes all the time as I read new stuff and depending on what mood I’m in. However, there is one book that I know will still make me snort with laughter even when I’m 80 years old — The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams.
* Favorite food: perfectly made toast
* Favorite band/music: Cake. I will never get enough Cake.
* Favorite reference question: Q: How long does it take the galaxy to rotate once? A: It’s called a galactic or cosmic year and it takes about 225-250 million earth years.
* Pets: I have two cats and a dog. Marcus and Grey are the cats who were rescued from a box in the woods when they were just little puffballs. When they are not acting insane, they are very sweet and purr loudly. My dog is named Peter and he's a medium size poodle mix (we call him the substandard poodle). He's got floppy ears, snores and loves green beans.
