Read + Review — If I Stay, by Gayle Forman

ifistay

In this book an unsuspecting family of four go on a car ride when suddenly everything changes. They are hit by a truck that swerved out of control. Mia Hall’s parents are killed on impact, but she and her brother are still alive, but in grave condition. Mia is not as one with her body though she is watching everything that happens to her from the outside in a sort of spirit or ghost form. Now she has to decide whether to stay or go with her parents.

I thought this book was amazing. Throughout the whole book I felt like I was Mia. The decisions she had to make were ridiculously hard to make and I don’t think I would have been able to do it. I felt her pain and her happiness throughout the whole book and I really enjoyed that.

A memorable part of the book was when her Grandfather tells her she can go if she wants to because he knows how hard it will be to stay.
