Read + Review — The Vanishing Game by Kate Kae Myers

vanishinggame

The Vanishing Game is about an orphan named Jocelyn who comes to face unthinkable events. Growing up, Jocelyn’s only relative was her brother, Jack, but he died young. Weeks after Jack’s death, Jocelyn received an enigmatic letter from “Jason December.” Jason December was the code name for Jack when they used to live at Seale House, a scary foster home they thought had mystical powers. Jocelyn decides to venture off to Seale House and realizes her and Jack’s thoughts about the orphanage were true.

The Vanishing Game was a breath-taking novel, and I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. Every chapter brought a new mystery, and Jocelyn’s take on all the events that came were way were striking. Jocelyn’s journey to find who was behind the “Jason December” message sometimes made feel that I was the one on the adventure because Myers wrote the novel well to put readers greatly in support of the protagonist.

I think one of the most memorable parts of the story is when Jocelyn receives the mysterious letter, and the journey begins.
