Week 10 Prompt:
And you thought trolls/dragons/fairies/unicorns didn’t exist… (Pick one or more mythical creatures to write about.)
Anna’s Winning Story:
Max, having finished his teacher’s creative writing assignment, leaned back in his desk chair. He had written about a mysterious ogre that terrorized the small town of Hartman. “Whew,” he said to himself. “I sure am glad that ogres are just mythology.” Suddenly, Max heard a scream that sounded awfully like his mom. Then, he saw a strange shadow at his window. “Oh no!” Max exclaimed, and ran into his closet. The ogre in his story might have come alive. He heard a bang at his door. Through the shutters on his door, Max saw a glint of green, a canvas sleeve.
“The boy. She said there was a boy!” the creature said gruffly. “Aha,” the ogre mumbled. “The other door.” It opened the closet door and Max helped.
Max woke with a start. “Wow, my story really is convincing!” he chuckled.
