The book was about a ghost named Jessica, who starts to show herself. One day at recess, Jessica sits next to a guy named Francis, who could see her. Even though she was a ghost, they started to bond together. Soon a bunch of people could start seeing Jessica and then Jessica is hit with the question “Why are you still on Earth?”
I liked the book because it showed how easy it is to be alone. Even though Jessica is a ghost, she can’t be seen by any humans until Francis comes along. Francis isn’t as creeped out as many people would if they see a ghost. As readers, the story could leave us thinking about how small actions could have a huge impact.
The one memorable thing was when Francis could see her. It was memorable because it was the start of a friendship bond between a ghost and a human.

Hi! I’m Amanda, the Teen Librarian at Fairfield Area Library. I have a four-legged child named Bailey, a cat who acts like a dog. He plays fetch, chases his tail and comes when he is called.
Favorite Books: I love reading mystery novels and young adult fiction. Team Peeta! My favorite books are always changing, but my favorite series at the moment are the Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken and the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. Anything by Jasper Fforde, Rick Riordan, Steve Berry or Steve Sheinkin.
Favorite Food: I love food, but nothing tops homemade macaroni and cheese.
Favorite Music: I will listen to almost anything; but I tend to lean more towards pop, rock, show tunes and country. I am also a huge fan of a-capella music (which includes all genres). Queen is still my favorite band of all time.
Favorite Reference Question: “Where is your Teen Section?”
