Read + Review — The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan

Sword of SummerMagnus used to be considered a “troubled” child. After his mom’s peculiar passing, Magnus was forced to survive alone on the streets of Boston. But everything changed when his unknown and, as claimed by his mother, dangerous, uncle tracks Magnus down. According to his uncle, Magnus is the son of a Norse god. Suddenly propelled into a world of trolls, giants, and monsters Magnus must search for a long-lost sword to save the world. But doing this may cost him his life.

I’m a big fan of Rick Riordan, I loved the Percy Jackson series and I enjoyed both the Kane Chronicles and Heroes of Olympus so I had high expectations when I pre-ordered this novel. I was not disappointed! With all the same action, suspense and adventurous plot I’ve come to expect from Rick Riordan I could not put this book down. In fact, I read it in four days! If you love Rick Riordan, mythology or superheroes like The Avengers, this is the perfect book for you!

One memorable thing about the book were the Viking gods. I honestly never knew they existed and I found them very interesting!
