Read + Review — The Maze Runner by James Dashner

maze runnerIn this book the main character, Thomas, and lots of other boys are trapped inside of a huge life-size maze. They have been trying to escape the maze for a few years, but have had no success. Then one Thomas shows up and there is actually real hope that they might get out. This is because Thomas is very smart, clever, and he helps to think of new ways for the boys to escape this maze. Read this book to find out if Thomas and his friends escape the maze.

The thing that I liked most about this book is that it is good for people with different interests. It has monsters and highly advanced futuristic technology, but it also includes lots of tragedy and some realistic fiction. There is also humor involved in this book and it will always surprise you when you least expect it. I think another interesting thing about this book was how the characters acted. All of the boys that lived in the maze shared one quality – they never gave up. They kept on trying to find ways out of the maze every day even though all previous attempts had failed.

One memorable thing about this book is that all of the boys that come into the center of the maze (Glade) can’t remember anything from their life before the Glade. They can only remember their name and actions (how to walk, talk, eat, etc.).
