Read + Review: Silver in the Blood by Jessica Day George

51je-Tg3pHL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_This mysterious and enticing story takes place in Romania for most of the book. It revolves around two American cousins, Dacia Vreeholt and Louisa Neulander. They have always known that they have Romanian relatives and that they were very mysterious, although they have never seen them. One fine day, their aunt takes them to see their Romanian relatives, but on the way, a certain man comes upon Louisa and says something very mysterious and creepy. When they finally arrive at Romania, they meet their harsh grandmother and they immediately know that the family is hiding something. When Louisa and Dacia learn the family secret, they must either continue the ways of their Romanian relatives or make their own paths.

I got really bored in the beginning one hundred pages because of the very slow start. Then right in the middle, the story really got going. Although, sometimes I couldn’t understand what was going on so I had to reread the part. There were also many twists in the character plots. In one point in the book, you might think one certain character is evil but in other parts, you might think the character is good.

For me the best thing in the book was the plot and the characters. I also love how the author adds a letter from either Louisa or Dacia in between chapters. I know it is a small touch but I liked it.
