Read + Review — Looking for Alaska by John Green

Looking for AlaskaMiles “Pudge” Halter is a new student at Culver Creek Preparatory where he is immediately taken in by his roommate, Chip “the Colonel” Martin who introduces him to his group of friends, which includes Takumi Hikohito, Lara Buterskaya, and Alaska Young. Before the school year starts Pudge is taken from his bed in the middle of the night, duct taped like a mummy, and then thrown into the school’s lake. As revenge, the Colonel decides to pull revenge pranks on the wealthy kids at the school. The rest of the book follows the story of the five kids constantly getting into trouble; until the day that things take a turn for the worst.

I loved the book. It was one of those books that makes you laugh when the characters laugh and cry when they cry. In all honesty, the book stole my heart. Sure there were times when I hated the book but I would eventually pick the book back up and fall in love with it again.

The most memorable part by far was when Pudge and the Colonel were pulling the pranks on the wealthy kids. It was interesting to hear about all of the different ways that they were able to come up with the prank them.
