Read + Review — The Copper Gauntlet (Magisterium #2) by Holly Black

51je-Tg3pHL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_ This book was about four students, Call, Aaron, Tamara, and Jasper attending their second year at the Magisterium. The Magisterium is a school where students are taught how to different kinds of magic such as earth, fire, wind, healing, and metal magic. However things go wrong between Call and his father, Alastair and the four of them find themselves caught in the midst of a crisis between the Magisterium and the Enemy of Death.

What I liked the most about this book was the level of suspense maintained by the authors. There was never a moment that passed by that I didn’t have goose bumps while reading. I also liked how the authors were able to twist the plot around which allowed me to be completely baffled. The twists in the plot and the irony was what made the book mysterious. One thing I didn’t like about the book was that there were some chapters which seemed repetitive. It was easy to notice that there was no difference between the two chapters.

The most memorable moment in the book was when Alastair betrayed Master Joseph at Constantine Madden’s tomb. It was the biggest twist in the story as it changed my perception of the book completely. It was also a completely unexpected event that changed the plot and the course of the story.
