Read + Review — Need by Joelle Charbonneau

need The hottest new website in Ottawa, Wisconsin is called NEED. The purpose of the site is to answer one question: What do you need? It follows several different teens, starting out with Kaylee Dunham, who all need different things, and will get them from this site… but for a price, a seemingly simple task. Soon, the demands made from the site in return for wishes granted is escalating as a mystery unfolds around NEED. Kaylee must figure out who is behind NEED before it’s too late.

I really liked the book overall, and how the suspense rises very quickly. Each character’s backstory is very compelling and moving, especially how Kaylee’s biggest hope is to get her brother a new kidney. The plot always had me on the edge of my seat and guessing who created NEED. Overall, I thought the book was good, and very suspenseful if not a bit slow.

It was very interesting how Kaylee’s wish for NEED is to get her brother a kidney. This moved me because I thought most teenagers would ask for a new phone or computer.
