True love? As a teenager? Well according to Mabry, Nick is her love of her life. When Mabry gets dumped, not even by Nick himself, she is devastated. She does not know what to do with her life now and is certain that she will never find true love again. One day, she runs into her boyfriend from 4th grade, Thad, who has a grudge against Nick, but agrees to help Mabry with her boy troubles. Through the help of Thad, Sirina (her best friend), and her favorite TV series, La Vida Rica, will Mabry be able to get over Nick and move on with her life?
While reading this book, I felt as if I could completely relate to what was being talked about during the novel. Mabry in the book is thirteen which is close to my age, so it would make complete sense that some of the actions occurring in the book happen in real life for me. Also, humor is very common in the book and I believe that is a very good tool to include when writing books. It left me laughing and eager to read more. Overall, with the humor and the relationship to my life, I think this book was very well written and I would recommend it to a friend!
As I stated before, I think the most memorable thing about my book was that I had tons of connections to it. As like most teenage girls, everyday we have to deal with drama and our everyday crazy life. It was nice to have this book to really realize that we are not the only ones going through this time and there are people there to help us.
