Read + Review: Winter by Marissa Meyer

winter-finalThis is the final book in the Lunar Chronicles series. Along with the main characters from the other books, we are introduced to Princess Winter. We also revisit Sir Jacin Clay from Fairest and Cress. This time Cinder and her friends are ready to complete their mission to end Queen Levana’s reign forever. Through many difficulties and complications, our dearest heroes fight until the end to succeed.

This book was great, but it was most certainly long! It was a whopping 826 pages (including the author’s note and things like that). This book definitely felt very long to read. I think it made it more addictive actually. I made it through 250 pages in about three hours since I was so excited. Sometimes the plot twists make you want to stop, but once you start, you must figure out how it ends! The plot was very interesting. You could tell that each detail took a lot of of effort and thought to make it into that book. Although you got a lot of it, Winter and Jacin’s conversations were always very fun to read. You could really understand their complex relationship. When she switches characters, she does it skillfully so you are intrigued but not completely left in the dust.

Long books can be worth it, even if they are exasperating sometimes. Characters written at their finest make great entertainment in any plot line or situation. But I think the best thing that this author has taught us is that anyone can do anything, no matter who they are or where they come from.
